What is Text-to-Speech?
The Listen feature reads text aloud using AI-generated voices. It supports word-by-word karaoke-style highlighting so you can follow along as the text is read.
Two Types of Voices
- Standard voices — Use your device's built-in speech engine. Available on all plans, works in multiple languages.
- Premium AI voices (Gemini) — Natural, human-like narration powered by Google Gemini TTS. Superior pronunciation in Arabic, English, and French. Available on Reader Pro and Scholar plans.
How to Use It
- Select text in the reader.
- Click Listen in the floating toolbar.
- The text is read aloud with word-by-word highlighting.
You can also use TTS in the Illustrated Stories viewer to hear story panels narrated.
