How Bookmarks Work
Both readers use the same bookmark flow. One icon opens a small two-row panel, and every bookmark remembers the exact passage you were reading rather than a page number, so it can reopen in either reader, on any device.
Saving a bookmark
- Tap or click the bookmark icon in the reader toolbar.
- Choose Add bookmark. The reader captures the passage on screen — or the text you selected, if you selected some first — and saves it right away.
- The name is written for you: the chapter title followed by the opening words of the passage. There is nothing to type.
- Choosing Add bookmark again at a spot you already saved removes that bookmark, so the icon still works as a toggle.
Opening your bookmarks
- Open the same panel and choose View bookmarks — the row shows how many you have.
- Select a bookmark to jump to it. The reader opens the right chapter and lands on the saved sentence: a bookmark made in the web reader opens at the same passage in the EPUB reader, and the other way round.
- From the list you can also remove one bookmark, export the whole list to a file, import a list you exported earlier, or delete them all at once.
Sync and availability
Bookmarks are saved to your account so they follow you between devices and between the two readers. That requires a plan that includes bookmarks: Reader Pro, Scholar, or a book you have purchased. While you are offline, or before you sign in, new bookmarks are kept on the device and uploaded to your account as soon as the connection or your session is back.
